The manuscript is finished

I’ve finished the last two chapters! The Shattered Gods manuscript is finally complete. Now the team just needs to finish editing and get artwork added and we are good to go. If all goes well the book will be available on iBooks, PDF and print on demand by June 30th.

In the Home Stretch

Yesterday I finished page 373 of the manuscript. We only have two more chapters to go! Over 225 pages are edited and the entire thing should be done by the end of March. That gives us plenty of time to prepare both the PDF and iBooks version for Origins!

Exciting updates

I have several exciting updates to share! As of this writing the first eight chapters have been edited and chapter nine (combat) has just been written. There are sixteen total chapters in the book, so we’re definitely approaching the home stretch.

Stu has been hard at work on the internal layout of the book and the sample pages look phenomenal. We’ll be posting the first chapter in the next few weeks so you can finally have a look at them.

I’ve also been hard at work on the final test build for the Evil Dice application. This iOS app allows you to create and track characters, handle dice rolls and even run combat and initiative from your phone or iPad.

We’re planning on releasing Evil Dice at the same time as Shattered Gods. This has slightly slowed production on both projects, but will be worth it in the long run!

A New Year With New Goals

Feburary is drawing closer and the Shattered Gods team is working feverishly on the book. We have roughly 55% of the book written and edited, with the hope to have the remaining 45% done within four weeks.

That’s an aggressive deadline and even if we hit it odds are still slim that we’ll be out in time for Dundracon. But you know what? Origins is just around the corner, with Gencon not long after that.

It may take us a bit longer than we’d like but we’re going to do this game justice and give it the time it needs. Ok, I’m heading back to work!

Shattered Gods Logo

I’d like to give a very warm thank you to Stu Phelps, who has completed the Shattered Gods Logo you now see above. It will be used for the cover of the book, character sheets and all other Shattered Gods products. Stu is now laying out the manuscript for publication. Go Stu!

Heather Shulkin has finished editing the first four chapters and should have 5-6 done this week. Great work Heather!

Editing is Well Under Way

If you’re curious as to why we’ve been quiet for so long you’re about to get your answer! We’ve been working furiously to prepare the final Shattered Gods Manuscript. Heather has been editing the manuscript, while Stu is working on the layout and Chris is finding quality art work.

February is creeping up fast, and if we want to have Shattered Gods ready for Dundracon it’s going to take a lot of work. We’ll post updates as we can, but things are likely to be quiet around here for the next month or two.

We promise it will be worth the wait though!

We’ve Hired an Editor

The Shattered Gods team has added Heather Shulkin. Heather will be editing the Shattered Gods main book. In edition Heather has a background as a video game tester, and served as lead tester for the Pools of Radiance roleplaying game for PC.

Heather will use this experience to get both Evil Dice and EGEAK ready for release in the app store. Welcome aboard heather!

A Big Update

Our target release date for Shattered Gods is Feburary 17th 2012, just in time for Dundracon. To hit that goal the Shattered Gods team needs to maintain tight deadlines. We’re racing to hit them, and have added a slew of new content to the game:

- Added a Lexicon

- Re-wrote the Introduction and Getting Started section

- Re-wrote the entire Character Creation process to be easier to understand.

- Re-wrote the Magic & the Circle of Eight section to make it clearer

- Organized the spells into Spell Lists.

- Created a Gamemastering Section

- Added Creating an Adventure to the Gamemastering Section

- Added The Gateway of Shadows to the Catalyst section

- Added Miscellaneous Enchanted Items to the Eldimagus section
