Setting: Town Square

The characters are being given a rousing send off before they are sent to Valys to join the Hasran military. Most of the town has gathered for an outdoor feast. There are long tables set on a small field next to the cobblestone square. A stage has been erected at the center of the square, and the PCs are seated there. Marcus is standing at the podium, with the mentors on the side opposite the PCs.
Roughly three hundred people have gathered in the square, with another three or four hundred clogging the fields to the south and northeast of the square. There is a festive mood to the crowd. They all know that the town will be richly rewarded for sending so many touched to Valys.
The event takes place shortly before sundown. There will be a dance during and after the feast.

Events
- Marcus addresses the crowd. He extolls the virtues of the PCs, speaking of their courage and dedication in agreeing to go to Valys for their Oathtaking. He asks the villagers to help him in expressing their gratitude, which leads to wild cheers.
-Marcus tells the crowd about the tradition of the Eldimagus. Whenever a new touched is sent to their first catalyst they are entrusted with an Eldimagus, which will grow with them as they progress on their journey.
- Marcus introduces Martos to award Victor’s Eldimagi.
- Martos shuffles up to the podium. He tells the crowd he’s not good at speeches, but that in this case he’s going to do his blighted best (crowd chuckles). He presents Viktor with an Enurian bronze belt and bracers that have been passed down through the temple of Aelianna for generations waiting for the right hero to bring them to life.
- Marcus introduces Daffyd, who is going to present Terwynn with his eldimagus. He’s taken the staff back for the purposes of presenting it at the ceremony.
- Daffyd approaches the podium with a confident swagger born from hundreds of speeches. He plays the crowd line a finely tuned instrument, extolling Terwynn’s intelligence and potential. Then he presents the battlemage’s staff and tells the story of it being twin to his own.
-Marus presents Tark, who is wearing gleaming silver plate and carrying a claymore on his back. He strides stiffly to the podium and scans the crowd for long moments before speaking. He is very proud to be a resident of Eben’s Spur. Many towns would treat half-Orokh like beasts, but not here. Here they are welcomed. They are a accepted. They are family. He presents Grond with a massive battle-axe made of enchanted steel with a fire ruby in the center. He gives Tobius a redwood breastplate that he wore into battle against the vampyr during the purge.
-Marcus takes the podium again. He extolls the towns new heroes, telling them that they will accomplish great deeds and bring honor to Eben’s Spur. Then it’s time for chaos to reign- next scene.
