Scene 20- Let’s be the ones to set the ambush this time

Cast: Party, Tal, Elle, Martos

Setting:  Campsite on a hillside not far from the Skull

The party has left the Skull via the same tunnel they used to enter.  They are able to escape the mountains surrounding the catalyst, and head back the direction they came.  They find a small grove of oaks atop a hillside that overlooks the approach that Nebiat must take to reach them.

The campsite is secure and provides a commanding view of the surrounding area, while also shielding them from any prying eyes.

Events

- Make sure to remind the players that they may want to gather some enchanted bone before leaving the Skull.  The bone is exceptionally heavy, but would make great armor, weapons or shields.

- The party will want to examine the Amulet of Olivanticus.  Have Terwynn make a Knowledge Arcana check.  Success will tell him that the user must channel spirit energy into the amulet.  This will send out a pulse that will break every spirit bond within a very large radius.  He isn’t sure how wide the radius is or how much spirit energy is needed.

- Martos will suggest that he be the one to use the amulet.  For one thing he has more magical energy than anyone else in the party, and thus can best use it. 

- Tal will offer to set up an illusion that will cloak the party, so that their ambush cannot be discovered.  This way they can spring a trap from safety.

- Encourage a party to concoct a plan of attack to ambush the dreadlord.  Draw out the map and and have the PCs sit around it to discuss.

- Make sure to point out that Terwynn’s familiar has not returned even though it’s been nearly a week.
