Elza Valys is cousin to Praetor Etrian Valys himself. She is over a decade his senior, but has seen a number of catalysts and still appears to be no more than forty. Her true age is often speculated upon, though never within earshot.
Elza has an extraordinarily inquisitive mind, and still prides herself on learning despite her age. She is always taking up new hobbies, from viticulture to smithing. Her thirst for knowledge is part of the reason why she has risen so high within the Histors, though her incredible intelligence and mastery over earth magic certainly help.
Elza firmly believes that Valys should be it’s own nation, and has subtly pressured the Praetor to declare independence now that the vampyr are no longer a threat. He has resisted, arguing that Hasra would go to war with them and that countless innocents would die in the effort.
The matron simply bides her time. She sees the injustices Hasra heaps upon them, and knows that it is only a matter of time before the people demand justice.
