Barbarian

Most civilized cultures look down upon those who give into their emotions.  Barbarians spit upon the soft city dwellers who mask their hatred and anger behind soft smiles and pretty words.  Instead they revel in their rage, using it to crush their foes.

Their savage howls, brutal weaponry and insatiable blood lust have made them infamous on the battlefield.  More civilized soldiers claim that barbarians lack discipline, but those same men  pale when a horde of screaming barbarians charges.

Barbarians are tougher than any other warrior, staying up long after other men would have fallen.  They scorn heavy armor, instead relying on simple leathers or hides found upon the beasts they hunt.

All barbarians gain access to the following class features:

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Barbarians are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, light and medium armor and shields (except tower).

Favored Saves: Fort

Fast Movement: A barbarian is faster than normal members of their race.  They gain an extra +10 movement.  This benefit only occurs when the barbarian is wearing no armor, or light or medium armor.  It stacks with other bonuses to movement.

Rage: A barbarian can harness their inner rage to increase their combat prowess.  A barbarian may rage for a number of rounds equal to 4 + Constitution modifier + Barbarian Level each day.

While enraged a barbarian gains a +4 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus to Will saves.  She suffers a -2 penalty to armor class.  The increase in Constitution grants the barbarian 2 hit points per level, but these disappear when the barbarian ceases to rage.  While enraged a barbarian cannot use Charisma, Dexterity or Intelligence based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate or Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

A barbarian may cease to rage as a free action, but is fatigued for a number of rounds equal to the duration of the rage.  A barbarian cannot re-enter rage until this fatigue has ended.

Rage Powers: At 1st level a barbarian may select a rage power from the list below.  He gains another rage power at 3rd and 5th level.   They may select from the following list:

Uncanny Dodge: At 2nd level the barbarian gains Uncanny Dodge.  The character may not be caught flat footed and retains his dex bonus, unless he is immobilized in some fashion.  If the barbarian gains Uncanny Dodge from any other source they automatically gain Improved Uncanny Dodge.

Damage Reduction: At 2nd level a barbarian gains a point of damage reduction.  This increases to two points at 5th level.  This damage reduction stacks with others sources, but cannot reduce damage below 0.

Improved Uncanny Dodge: Beginning at 4th level the barbarian can no longer be flanked.

Indomitable Will: At 5th level the barbarian gains a +4 bonus on Will saves to resist enchantment spells while raging.  This bonus stacks with other modifiers, including the bonus from raging.

Tireless Rage: At 5th level a barbarian no longer suffers from fatigue after raging.

Greater Rage: At 5th level a barbarian’s morale bonus to strength and constitution increases to +5 and the bonus to Will saves increases to +3.

Mighty Rage: At 6th level a barbarian’s morale bonus to strength and constitution increases to +6 and the bonus to Will saves increases to +4.  In addition the barbarian may select two additional rage powers, and one feat from the barbarian feat tree.
