Every character in Shattered Gods has the ability to pledge their faith to a greater being. The most common forces that receive worship are the Stewards, although there are a number of other powerful figures in the world.
In order to gain power from these beings the character must make a covenant. This covenant is a special agreement between them and the being in question. It provides that being worship and in exchange allows the character access to certain powers.
Any character wishing to make a covenant simply prays to the appropriate being, such as a Steward. The being then appears to them in a dream, and they make a covenant which outlines their service and what they will be given in a return.
In game terms the character must spend a feat to purchase a covenant. Additional feats can be spent to purchase dedications, which grant further powers or upgrade existing ones.
