Mage

A Mage typically lacks the necessary aspects to purchase a greater path when they choose their 3rd level prestige class.  They wait in abeyance until they gain the proper aspects, at which time they become similar to more specific mages such as Illusionists or Summoners.

Mages lack specialized powers such a a battlemage’s greater intensity, but they make up for it  with more spell points and a faster recovery.   This deeper mana pool allows them to outlast their more specialized brethren, helping to balance the fact that their spells are not as powerful.

Arcane Recovery- Each time the caster purchases an arcane feat they gain an additional point of recovery and one magic point.  This bonus is cumulative, so if they have six Arcane feats they gain six recovery and six magic points.

Undetermined Path- The caster may select a single greater path that they meet the requirements for.  This path may be selected at any time, so if the caster doesn’t meet the requirements for a greater path when they initially take the class they may select the path as soon as they meet the requirements.
