Cultural Description
Legends from the time before the Godswar claim the orokh were created to scourge humanity. They were gifted with greater strength and stamina, and an insatiable appetite for human flesh. Whatever the truth of such tales the fact that orokh consider humans prey is undeniable.
Half-orokh share the hunger of their orokh parents, but are able to suppress it when in the company of humans. A few join orokh tribes and go back to the old ways, giving into the hunger and consuming the flesh of men.
Most choose to dwell in human settlements, despite the prejudice and fear they encounter there. Half-orokh are often a target for insults, beatings or other expressions of human anger.
This often ends badly for the humans who target them, as the half-orokh share their parent’s bloodrage. If pushed too far they will snap, as many villages or towns have learned to their sorrow. A half-orokh in bloodrage can kill dozens before being brought down.
The same ferocity that alienates them from most humans also makes them ideal soldiers. Half-orokh are highly prized by the Valysian military. Once they’ve become disciplined there is no deadlier combatant.
Religion
Most half-orokh follow the Stewards, though some cling to the ways of their orokh parents. The Orokh follow the Dark Mother, whom they claim created them to scourge humanity from the world.
Physical Appearance
Half-Orokh are similar to humans, but are both larger and stronger. They have large sloped forheads, thick skulls and blood red eyes. Their fingers are tipped with wicked black claws, and their teeth are sharper and longer.
