Acrobatics

This skill allows the character to keep their balance under challenging circumstances, including slippery surfaces or narrow walkways.  It also allows the character to perform a number of manuvers such as flips, jumps, dives or cartwheels.  You may also avoid attacks or obstacles with a successful check.

Check: A successful check allows the character to move at half their normal speed across narrow or slippery surfaces.  One check is needed per round that they are moving across such areas.  The following chart determines the DC of the check.

[Acrobatics DC chart]

While using Acrobatics the character is considered flat-footed, which deprives them of their dex bonus to AC. If the character takes damage while using Acrobatics they must immediately make another check at a DC equal to the original check.  If they fail they are knocked prone.

The character may also use acrobatics to move through a square threatened by an enemy without provoking an attack of opportunity.  You may also use the Acrobatics skill to make jumps.  The DC is equal to the distance crossed if horizontal, or four times the distance crossed if vertical.  These DCs are doubled in the event that the character cannot get a running start of at least 10 feat.  If the check fails by 5 or less the character may make a 2nd check at the same DC to grab the edge of whatever surface they intended to land upon.

If a character succeeds at a DC 15 Acrobatics check they may ignore the first 10 feet of distance while falling.  However, they still fall prone if they suffer damage from the fall.

Special: If you have more than 2 ranks in Acrobatics you gain an additional +1 to AC while fighting defensiely.  You gain an additional +2 while taking a total defense action.
