Hasran Noble & Military Ranks

Civilian Ranks 

Imperator- Head of the empire

ProMagnus- The head of household for any powerful noble house.  Less than a dozen such houses exist. 

ProConsul- The non-military equivalent to a Praetor.  Proconsul’s act as governors for an entire province.  They tend to domestic matters so that the Praetor is able to tend to matters of war.  In some cases a Proconsul’s powers may be given to a Praetor, though in such cases they retain the rank of Praetor.

Promagistrate- The promagistrate serves as the ruling judge in a very large province.  Complaints about magistrates are brought before a promagistrate, as is any matter considered to delicate to have a simple magistrate preside over.

Magnus- The head of a noble house, typically one of the lesser ones.

Consul- A civilian position responsible for overseeing a mid sized town or small city.

Magistrate- Magistrates serve as judges throughout the Hasran Imperium.  They are elected for life, though their title can be revoked for misconduct.

Hasran Military Ranks

Praetor- Highest military rank, generally placed in charge of an entire province 

Legatus- General in the Hasran army.  Generally commands at least one legion. 

Centurion- Commands a century, or 100 men 

Optio- similar to a Lieutenant, serves as secondary commander under a centurion 

Signiferi- Standard bearer

Legionary- Hasran soldier, automatically granted citizenship.
