Talius is a Na’Elfen whose father served the vampyr Rakarian during his reign over Mountainshadow. He grew up in the shadows of the house, and was nearly of age when the purge tossed his entire world into chaos. His father was slain, his household gone.
Tal’s only choice was to flee ahead of the mob, and he barely escaped with his life. His Elfen heritage made him a target throughout Olivantia, so he fled into the blood wood to seek santuary. He’d been born from a long line of vampyr, which gave him enough power to avoid the consumed.
While seeking sanctuary in the forest Tal was caught in a manastorm, but emerged as a touched instead of dying. Tal’s natural catalizations manifested as Dream and Fire, paving the way for him to become an illusionist.
Tal was fortunate enough be discovered by a small tribe of Na’Elfen who’d avoided the massacre that had wiped out most of their people during the purge. They spent the next decade fleeing ahead of packs of consumed bent on eradicating them.
During this time Tal was trained as a Revenant, who specialize in using their illusion magic defensively and their air magic offensively. He was exceptionally gifted, which is the only reason he was able to survive the brutal years that followed.
The Na’Elfen tribe dwindled with each passing year, until they stumbled across a small enclave of dreadlords who’d survived the war. This faction was staunchly loyal to the memory of Olivanticus, and determined to return to power. They understood the catastrophic threat posed by the Tree, and would stop at nothing to curtail it’s power.
The two factions agreed to work together and established a number of small camps throughout the forest. Their network has grown over the last decade, but is still a very fragile thing. They keep their cells small as the Tree’s forces still hunt them relentlessly.
When Tal’s mastery of illusion magic became strong enough Tal left the forest. He was now armed with sorcery that would allow him to mask his true heritage, so blending into towns became trivial. This allowed him to move about without drawing attention to himself, and made him invaluable as a spy to both the vampyr and his own Na’Elfen tribe.
Tal was recently sent out of the forest to gather power and seek out allies who might aid the vampyr in their return to power. His first stop is the Skull of Xalegos, where he is to deliver a letter to the liches from the vampyr councilors who survived the purge.
